Lincolnshire Louth Motor Club

Classic Section

Interested in becoming a member?
Have a look at the website’s Heritage page. There you may read about the club’s heritage. Founded in 1900 as the Lincolnshire Automobile Club it is the oldest motor club in the country with the Classic Section formed in 1990. Whilst proud of past achievements, the Club’s members are always open to new ideas for classic vehicle events and activities.

What are the benefits?
The Club is open to all having an interest in classic vehicles. You don’t have to presently own a ‘classic’ to become a member.  You would be joining a group of like-minded friendly enthusiasts who enjoy driving and showing classic cars,  car-derived light commercials up to 12 cwt, Landrovers with rear seats, or classic motor cycles.  To be eligible for most shows, vehicles must be a minimum age of 20 years, though organisers of particular events to which our members are invited may stipulate other age limits.

When do members meet?
Classic vehicle shows and road runs, also informal mid-week gatherings are organised between April and October.  Members are also invited to other events, mostly in Lincolnshire. The Committee arrange Members’ Meetings during Autumn and Winter months, providing the opportunity to keep in touch with friends and consider suggestions for the forthcoming season.  Occasional talks and film shows may be arranged. New ideas are always welcome.

Any technical help?
Within the club there are members who have gained experience of a wide range of classic vehicles. If you need help or advice then just speak to fellow members. If they are personally unable to provide information or help, then you may be fairly certain there will be someone to whom you can be introduced.

Is there a magazine?
Yes. Members receive an illustrated full-colour monthly magazine with the latest news of forthcoming events. There are articles by members themselves on motoring topics. Also included are reports and photos of recent activities. You are encouraged to provide interesting reports to the Editor of any events you attend, not just those of our club. There is a section where members may advertise vehicles or parts for sale or wanted.  As a member of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, we receive quarterly information affecting classic vehicles. Relevant articles are published in the club magazine.
